The story

For nine nights of Devi puja

Navratri spans nine nights in honour of the Devi. Many households begin with ghatasthapana, establishing a kalash, and keep a lamp and daily offerings through the festival.

Meaning

Navratri honours the Devi in her many forms across nine nights.

The kalash is welcomed as a seat for the Devi’s presence, and the red chunri and kumkum are offerings of respect and celebration.
